A 3D MODEL CAN  HELP IN PLANNING YOUR NEW BUILDING

An example of  a simple 3d Cad Sketch Design is shown below

Sketch Design for a new Office / Show- Room servicing a remodeled warehouse / Factory

The brief for this project was to provide as much flexibility for the new space as possible. The Client wanted to maximize the amount of glazing to the Streetscape face of the Showroom module yet still be sure that not too much sunlight interfered with the offices. This model was used to fine tune the amount and location of the glazing

This 3d model was drawn early in the Sketch Design stage

Once drawn it was used for a Solar Access Study and again to see how various design options fitted into the existing context. The time spent preparing this 3d model  saved the Client money  over the course of the project as it resolved many design issues quicker than the traditional plan and elevation method of presentation. This form of Sketch Design is recommended for more complex jobs or if the client  wants a complete understanding of how the building will actually look and how the sun will affect it and the surrounding properties
